It has been said that when Taj Artis sings, the hardest hearts begin to melt, allowing the love of God to bring refreshment, healing, and joy. Taj’s velvet voice can both soothe and excite with a passionate delivery that liberates the spirit! Taj now invites you to enjoy her debut solo album titled “Take The Time”. It is a soul-stirring collection of songs she wrote to bring hope, peace, and joy to the “real world”. Honest lyrics, powerful vocals, and exciting instrumentation blend together to create a masterpiece! “These songs have personal significance to me,” Taj explains. “People believe what I sing because I believe what I sing. It is always my desire to take the feelings from my heart and place them into the heart of the listener.”

Taj is no newcomer to music. Singing is a God-given talent that she has used all of her life. As early as age four, she performed solos in the choirs of her church in Atlanta, Georgia. Taj acknowledges “Even at such a tender age, I had a keen awareness of God and His personal interest, intervention, and investments in my life.” Since that time, she has been on an incredible journey. She has sung on over 60 albums, with notables the likes of Phillip Bailey, Wes King, Third Day, and Babbie Mason. She has been a successful jingles singer. McDonalds, CNN, and Coco-Cola are just a few of the clients who have used her incredibly versatile voice to promote their products. Taj has graced the stage with renowned personalities including Helen Baylor, Peabo Bryson, Bob Carlisle, Dr. Tony Evans, Pastor E.V. Hill, Ben Kinchlow of the 700 Club, and Crystal Lewis.

Enthusiasm and great abilities as a communicator have also set the stage for Taj’s live performance. In 1996, she performed the finale song for the Summer Olympic Games’ women’s soccer venue. She has ministered in England at an international conference. Her songwriting abilities have allowed her to craft masterful and thought-provoking songs recorded by Maia Amada, Karen Wheaton, and Babbie Mason. Taj has also served as a worship leader for several women’s events. During her performances, she encourages others through her transparency. From the depths of her being, people feel the love, strength, and grace of God. Taj says “We are living epistles. Someone is always reading our lives. When people see me smiling, even in my trials, I give them hope and inspiration. They know that my smile is genuine and that Christ is the source and character behind that smile. It tells them that if I can make it, they can make it!”

Taj is not just making it. She is excelling and soaring on eagles’ wings – clothed in the garment of praise and saturated with the costly anointing of the Holy Spirit. It is with this anointing that she proclaims the heart of God with the album “Take The Time”. She worked with Grammy winning producer Oliver Wells and Emmy winning producer Ricky Keller to create music you will remember. Taj also worked with newcomer Jeff Rogers to produce songs with a “vibe” you can groove to – coupled with messages you can relate to. The project has a wonderful variety of tunes filled with Spanish guitars, duets, raps, trios, choirs, smooth saxophones, and everything in between. It leaves no room for disappointment!

It is the desire of Taj Artis to reach the world with the album’s messages of hope, restoration, and love. She especially wants to share her songs with those who may never come to a traditional church building. “I want to take the Lord to the marketplace. The whole world is a stage!” Taj says. Take the time to experience the heart and soul of Taj Artis. Her love is contagious. Her joy is outrageous. Her message is ageless.
